RE: ARB-2019-66: Stonefleld D2 Phase 2 (TMP 061 WO-03-D2-000AO)
Dear Mr. Myers,
The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board reviewed the above noted item at its meeting
on Monday, June 17, 2019. The Board voted to grant approval of the Certificate of
Appropriateness for the site plan amendment, subject to the following conditions:
1. Return for a work session to resolve the following architectural issues:
a. Coordinate the scale of the building with the surrounding development,
particularly the townhouses.
b. Provide window glass specifications.
2. The revised brick sample presented on 6/17/19 is appropriate.
Please note the following:
1. The brick presented on 6/17/19 was Glen-Gery Brick Classic Series Flashed Camelot IS
Modular.
2. The architectural issues must be resolved prior to building permit approval; however, the
applicant is encouraged to resubmit for the ARB work session promptly to avoid delays in
permit approval.
3. Any changes in the approved design will require a new application and additional review.
4. Changes made to the site or architectural plans after issuance of a Certificate of
Appropriateness can delay the signing of final site plans and the approval of
building permits. It is in the applicant's best interest to notify ARB staff of such
changes and to initiate the review of amendments to ARB-approved plans to avoid
future delays.
5. Certificates of Appropriateness are valid for the same period that the
corresponding site plan is valid. If there is no site plan required for the proposed
work, the Certificate of Appropriateness is valid for 3 years. Applicants requesting
an extension of the period of validity must do so in writing. The letter must be
received by the Director of Planning prior to the expiration date.
For the work session, please provide:
1. Eight sets of revised drawings addressing items la and 1 b, above.
2. A memo summarizing the proposed changes and how they satisfy the condition of approval.
3. The attached "Revised Application Submittal" form. This form must be returned with your
revisions to ensure proper tracking and distribution.
