Ms. Romeo - Thank you for your email. I am sorry you are not having a better response when reaching out to our
department. I was just writing you an email when yours came in so I decided to just respond to yours. Your application
was for two separate but related approvals of this sign. Architectural Review Board (ARB) approval of the sign design and
zoning approval of the actual sign permit. I am handling the ARB review/approval of the sign design and Jeff Baker,
Zoning Permit Planner, (copied) is handling the sign permit review/approval. For some reason, our Intake staff failed to
give the sign permit application to Jeff to review so I have gotten it to him and asked him to do an expedited review. He
has indicated he will get on it in the morning.
I have completed my review of your ARB sign application. The following revisions are requested to make this sign
proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines.
1. Approved Comprehensive Sign Criteria for the Woodbrook Shopping Center are attached. The proposed white
background in this application does not meet the approved sign background colors in the approved criteria. Please
revise the sign drawing to meet the approved sign background colors which are listed as:
Blue (The shade of blue shall coordinate with the shades of blue used for the backgrounds of existing
signs in the shopping center) or mottled gray (sample).
2. Please revise the sign drawing to indicate whether the sign is to be illuminated and the method of illumination.
Approved Comprehensive Sign Criteria allow for external illumination. If there is existing external lighting to
remain, you can note that on the drawing.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this email indicating whether you will or will not proceed with these
revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period associated with your original
submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised drawings to me so we can wrap this up quickly.
If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your application. Failure to respond to
this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the application without further revisions.
If you have any questions about this action, please contact me as soon as possible.

Subject: Sign permit
Hello Mr. Nelson,
I submitted a permit to have our sign recovered on May 20th. I got an email from Buck asking for the work valuation
which I provided him with on May 24th. I have not heard anything since then. I called today and was given your number
and the ARB # 2019-00068.
The address is 1867 Seminole trail , 22901.
1 have send numerous emails to Buck and they have not been answered. I called and his voicemail said he is out of the
office from the 15th to the 23rd. I sent my emails that were never answered on the 10th and the 14th. I am very
frustrated at this taking this long, when we got our original sign it did not take this long.
Can you please let me know the status of our sign?
Linda Romeo
