Good Morning Greg,
My name is Kevin and I am in the process of reviewing your zoning clearance for English Meadows
Crozet at 1220 Crozet Ave and I had a few questions I was hoping you could answer.
Are there any needed or pending building permits associated with this use? The application
indicates that it is a change of ownership and name, but does not indicate there are any other
changes, so I was just double checking that there were no changes being made to the building
that would require a building permit.
There are no pending building permits. We are continuing to operate the property as an assisted living
facility. No changes to the use.
Do you have a license to operate the facility? If applicable, I would like a copy or proof before I
can approve the clearance. These requirements are listed in our County Code under Section
5.1.13.

Attached is the operating license for the facility.
d. No such use shall be operated without approval and, where appropriate, licensing by
such agencies as the Virginia Department of Welfare, the Virginia Department of Health,
and other such appropriate local, state and federal agencies as may have authority in a
particular case.
3. Are there any other substantial changes to the use (practice), building, or site that I should be
aware of? Are the number of employees generally the same as the previous use?
No substantial changes to the use - Still operating as an assisted living facility. We have
changed from non-profit to for profit/ private pay model so moving forward new residents will be
private pay.
Number of employees is similar- down a few. We have consolidated some of the office functions into
our corporate office in Christiansburg VA but the care staff and restaurant are essentially unchanged.
I just want to make sure I fully understand what is going on and I have everything I need before I
approve the Clearance. In the meantime I will send the application along to the Building Inspections
department so they can review it.
