RE: Request for Extension to Validity of Final Site Plan SDP201400006 (Willow Glen)
Dear Mr. Edwards:
Thank you for your request (dated May 15, 2019) to extend the validity of approved Final Site Plan
SDP2014000060) pursuant to Zoning Ordinance (ZO) Section 32.4.3.8.b.
Community Development Department (CDD) staff have reviewed your request for a five-year extension
to the validity of SDP201400006 and to "any forthcoming approvals associated with this project." Acting
as Agent for this request, I have consulted with numerous CDD staff members regarding this request and
have determined at this time that the request is not justified relative to ZO Sections 1.4, 1.5, or 32.1.1,
and would not otherwise promote the public health, safety, convenience, or welfare.
Therefore, your request is denied at this time. The period of validity for SDP201400006 remains
unchanged, and SDP201400006 will expire and will no longer be valid on October 17, 2019.
Please note the following:
■ County approval of SDP201900017 (Willow Glen — Major Amendment), if granted prior to
October 17, 2019, would establish a new five-year period of validity for the Willow Glen site plan.
■ This denial does not preclude you or other authorized agents for the Willow Glen project/property
from submitting any similar requests for extension (pursuant to ZO Section 32.4.3.8.b) in the
future, as may be applicable.
■ You have the right to appeal this denial to the circuit court, pursuant to ZO Section 32.4.3.8.c and
as provided in Virginia Code § 15.2-2261.
1. Per ZO Section 32.4.3.8.a, SDP201400006 has an expiration date of October 17, 2019, as was noted in the first
review comment letter for SDP201900017 (Willow Glen — Major Amendment) dated May 7, 2019, and as was
discussed during the May 9, 2019 Site Review Committee (SRC) Meeting.

RE: Willow Glen: Validity Extension Request to SDP201400006 and SDP201900017
Dear Tim:
Please allow this to serve as our request to extend the validity of the approved Final Site Plan
(SDP201400006) in accordance to Z.O. Section 32.4.3.8.b. Our expiration will expire on October
17, 2019 which marks our five (5) year anniversary since our original approval. We request an
additional five years to this approval, and any forthcoming approvals associated with this project,
be granted to allow us the opportunity to continue developing this project.
