Dear Madame/Sir:
I am in receipt of the NEW application by Mr. Dale McWilliams
for a variance to reduce his side line set back from the
normal 25' . I am in question why the application process is
in use at all, if indeed individuals can submit information
initially and not follow guidelines submitted. Find enclosed
a copy of the plat used by McWilliams for his initial placement
with front line distances marked. Even without a survey one
could determine the home was not 100' off the adjacent property.
Property value is directly affected by the proximity of ANY
home(and especially a mobile home) to the adjacent property.
AlbemarleCounty must approve placement of a trailer. Obviously
the application on file is in conformance with the concept of
allowing individual rights while not being visually or monetarily
offensive or affecting a future site plan for the adjoining
land. The original application on file with the Zoning Office
states the home is 100' off the line. This is a realistic
presentation for land that is 200-225' wide. It is unfortunate
that I may appear to be a villain in a situation where county
officials have not done a proper job. I would request since
the home must be moved that the 100' is desirable.
Upon further review I have realized that the water source
for McWilliams'property appears to be less than 10' off my line.
Normally more distance is required. The improper placement of
the home and the water source create a substantial hardship in
future development of my property and deny my property rights.
In summary, the existing nature of my land will be altered
from rural agricultural by this proximity to a subdivision nature.
The character of our district would be changed forever. My
pro erty will be restricted visually, the monetary value will
ected, building placement for the future will be restricted,
an privacy will be denied. Please deny his request.
