of Rt. 20 and Rt. 626, zoned RA. The applicant seeks a
variance from sections 30. 5. 6. 2 . 1 and 30. 5. 7 . 2 (b) of the Albemarle
County Zoning Ordinance to reduce the setback for a free-standing
sign in the Scenic Areas-Highway District from one hundred fifty
(150) feet to ten (10) feet, to increase the number of
free-standing signs allowed from one (1) to two (2) such signs and
to increase the sign area for free-standing signs from the maximum
allowable area of eighteen (18) square feet to twenty-seven (27)
square feet.
