Dear Mr. Burgess:
I received your notice of July 11, 1988 relating to
Variance Request VA-88-44 requesting relief from Sections
4 .12 . 7 and 10 .4 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance ,by
Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Authority.
I object to the granting of the variances because any
variance provides more intense use of the facility than was
contemplated and as a result has a general tendency of negatively
impacting surrounding residential properties without payment of
any compensation. It is unfair to allow the Airport Authority
to increase maximum height when it is adament in seeking
height restrictions on surrounding properties .
I would suggest that in the future that any Notice of
Variance contain more information as it is impossible to
determine from the notice sent the exact nature of the request.
It is a well known fact that although information is available
at the County Office, most people cannot and will not be able
to obtain access . It is hard to believe that if applicable
ordinances that require 14 spaces, assumed to be parking spaces,
a reduction to only 1 could ever be reasonable.
The undersigned hereby requests that the variances applied
for be denied.

VA-88-44, requesting relief from Sections 4 . 12 .7 and 10.4 of the
Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance, as follows:

The applicant seeks a variance from sections 4. 12 .7 and
10.4 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to reduce
the number of loading spaces required from fourteen (14)
spaces to one (1) space and to increase the the allowable
height of a structure from the maximum of thirty-five (35)
feet to forty-five (45) feet.
A public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals on
July 26, 1988, at 3: 00 p.m. , in Meeting Room #7, Second Floor,
County Office Building, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville,
Virginia.
This application is made available for your review in the
Albemarle County Zoning Office, 401 McIntire Road,
