It is our understanding that Centel has applied for a setback variance in order to enable it to construct a new tower 250 feet in height (with a 15 foot whip type antenna on top) to replace the existing 150 foot tower. The new tower will be located behind the Centel building near the airconditioning units . We also understand the new tower will be significantly more sturdy than the existing tower. While it does not appear the new tower would affect our church, the new tower would seem to be an improvement over the existing tower. The purpose of this letter is to inform you and the members of the Board of Zoning Appeals that Aldersgate United Methodist Church has no objection to the application of Centel and to the construction of the new tower. Aldersgate United Methodist Church will not have a representative present at the public hearing, but would request that the Board of Zoning Appeals accept this letter as evidence of the fact that we have no objection to Centel ' s request .
