Burgess : Please accept this application in association with SP00--50 , for a variance from zoning ordinance 4 . 12 . 6 . 6 . 2 . We plan on building SC, a replacement hospital on TM 5-8' parcel 67 , and we request a variance to limit the number of parking spaces necessary for this 3000 sq ft facility from the 22 to 25 spaces indicated by the zoning ordinance to sixteen . Our reasons are as follows : 1 Our architect , John Knapp of Madison , Wisconson has designed over 300 veterinary facilities . Based on his experience, and our projected needs , 16 spaces should be more than adequate for this size facility and our practice. 2 At the time that this zoning ordinance was written , most veterinary facilities were on a walk-in type schedule. Often , this approach would find periods where large numbers of clients would come to a clinic , necessitating larger parking requirements . Our practice has had an appointment schedule, where 3 to 4 clients are scheduled for 15 to 20 minute appointments during outpatient hours . We have used this system to regulate the flow of clients and patients for seven years at our present location , with much success . We agree with Mr . Knapp's assessment , based on this experience. 3 As this parcel of land has beautiful views of the countryside and surrounding mountains , it is our interest to minimize the site development to preserve these qualities .
