Sisson TAX MAP/PARCEL: 80/69 ACREAGE: 5. 05 Acres ZONING: Rural Areas (RA) LOCATION: West side of Route 616, +/- .7 miles north of its intersection with Interstate 64. The applicant seeks a variance from Section 10.4 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance, which states: "10.4 Area and Bulk Regulations . . . Yards, minimum . . . Front. . . . 75 feet . . . " The applicant proposes to construct an addition to the west side of the existing dwelling and seeks a reduction of the front setback from the minimum required measurement of seventy-five (75) feet to sixty-one (61) feet. The existing dwelling is situated approximately eighty (80) feet from the closest point of the private right-of-way. The applicant cites the original placement of the nineteenth century home as being the causing factor for the variance request. The proposed addition will be to the west and south sides of the existing dwelling. It should be noted that the addition on the west side will extend approximately twelve (12) feet past the front of the existing dwelling. This variance approval allows relief from Section 10.4 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to reduce the front setback from seventy-five (75) feet to fifty-five (55) feet to allow construction of an addition to a dwelling.
