Enclosed is the information you requested concerning the
signage at 2300 Commonwealth Drive (Tax Map 61W, Parcel 9A) .
As we discussed over the telephone, any additional square
footage, number of signs or moving signs closer than the
30' building setback allowed in this area will require a
variance. The next deadline date for filing a variance
with our department is December 19, 1988. An application is

SET BACK HARDSHIPS
1) Set back would be more of a eye sore next to building than present location.
2) Visibility from street very poor due to landscape.
3) Visibility from street very poor due to trees.
4) Entrance to building would present total visibility from southern approach.
5) Sign would only be visible to people entering builing as opposed to street
and parking lot.

Dear Amelia:
Please withdraw my varience request for the June 13,1989 meeting. The landlord and
manager Jim Grail have decided with other tenants to go to a menu sign.
Per Mr. Grail this menu sign is being built by Birckhead Signs and Graphics,
201 Tarlton Rd, Charlottesville, Va 22901. This will take approximately 3=4
weeks to build and erect this menu sign.
Please advise if my sign would have to come down before the menu sign is erected,
meeting all zoning requirements.
