Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
This letter is to notify you, as adjoining property owners, that
Thomas Lee and Delores A. Johnson property described as Tax Map 109,
Parcel 46, Zoned RA, has made application for VA-89-21, requesting
relief from Section 10.4 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance,
as follows:
The applicant seeks a variance from Section 10.4 of the Albemarle
County Zoning Ordinance to allow the reduction of the side yard
measurement from the minimum requirement of twenty-five (25)
feet to fifteen (15) feet to allow construction of a single-
family dwelling.
A Public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals on
April 25, 1989, at 3:00 p.m. , in Meeting Room #7, Second Floor, County
Office Building, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Virginia.
This application is made available for your review in the Albemarle
County Zoning Office, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Virginia.

RE: VA-89-21 Zoning Variance Appeal
Dear Mr. Evans:
Thank you for your recent letter and long distance phone call to alert me to
our adjoining property owners application VA-89-21 for relief from Section 10.4
of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance.
As the Board of Zoning Appeals considers this request, we would like to make the
following suggestions:
1. In order to minimize the visibility of the new dwelling in what
is now beautiful pristine woods, the cutting of existing trees
and shrubs should be restricted.
2. In order to restrict the visibility of the new building from
the O'Leary's parcel 46B, please have the owners place two rows
of six foot white pines or Eicialocks in a staggered configuration
along boundary line N64° 21' 58"W for a distance of 50 feet which
includes the side of the house paralell to the boundary line
3. We would suggest that the builders use a natural stain for the
house siding so that it will blend into the natural beauty of the
woods.
Mr. Evans, thanks again for keeping me aware of VA-89-21 and I hope our suggestions
are practical, reasonable and in the best interest on maintaining the high quality
zoning ordinances of Albemarle County.
