Dear Mr. Maupin:
Please be advised that your variance application, VA-89-94, will be
heard during the public hearing by the Board of Zoning Appeals on
Tuesday, November 14, 1989, at 3:00 p.m. , Second Floor, County Office
Building, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Virginia.
It will be necessary for someone to be present to speak for the variance
application.
Enclosed please find a placard which must he posted on the subject
property so that it will be visible from a public road as soon as possible.

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen:
This letter is to notify you, as adjoining property owners, that
Percy L. Maupin (applicant) , Hunter Maupin (owner) , property
described as Tax Map 100, Parcel 7C, Zoned RA, has made application
for VA-89-94, requesting relief from Section 10.4 of the Albemarle
County Zoning Ordinance, as follows:
The applicant seeks a variance from Section 10.4 of
the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to reduce the
front and rear yard setbacks for the location of a
dwelling (mobile home) . The request is for a front
setback of 60 feet and a rear setback. of 10 feet,
reductions of 15 and 25 feet respectively.
A public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals on
November 14, 1989, at 3:00 P.M. , in Meeting Room #7, Second Floor,
County Office Building, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Va.
This application is made available for your review in the Albemarle
County Zoning Office, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Va.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am addressing this letter to those persons making a decision
regarding the Maupin's application for a variance on Tax Map 100,
Parcel 7C.
As an adjacent property owner on two sides of the subject property,
I wish to express my strongest disapproval of their request. The
reasons for my decision are many and the history of bad faith on the
Maupin's part is long, but I will only address those factors that I
believe are relevant to you.
The property, as you are aware, would not be in compliance with
the current comprehensive plan. It is an extremely narrow parcel which
would force the building to sit far too close to the road and only 10
feet from my property line. I find this an infringement on my rights
and am confident that it would adversely affect the value of my property.
While I realize there are other mobil homes in the area, none are close
to the condition of the Maupin's or are situated on a similar lot.
Neither the mobil home nor the "house" are fit for human occupancy.
I believe the zoning department has gone beyond being fair and
equitable in granting extension after extension and giving the Maupins
every opportunity to abide by the regulations, yet good faith has not
been kept on the Maupin' s part.
Tax Map 100, Parcel 7C does not make a good building site anywhere
on the parcelt I, and I believe the adjoining property owners (with
the possible exception of the cemetary) , feel strongly that this
application should be denied. I implore you to do so.
