Dear Amilia:
I am writing to summarize my thoughts and request further
Womens guidance on the next step with regards to obtaining a sign for our
office in Earlysville. You are aware of our arguments for believing
that a variance should have been granted but for summary sake I
•j. will list them again:
11%. 1. Because of the set-back and downslope site of our building
patients and clients frequently have trouble finding us when they are
Hospital new to the practice. This will be more true for the rear and lower
Care level tenants.
2. To construct our building we were required to meet all of the
8tenants of a full commercial zoning and it would not be unreasonable to
request significant signage along the main road to advertise our
presence.
Injuries& 3. We are not requesting nearly as much signage as would be
Ac Idents t allowed for our 6,000 foot commercial building given the benefit of a
full commercial signage amount.
4. A simple monument sign with a single name for the building
could not describe the enterprises which are present within the building
itself.
Preventive 5. Gary Morris, a new dentist in the area will be openifig his
Medicine practice in the rear lower level. The lack of road signage will
significantly hamper the development of his practice.
6. Our sign is smaller compared to signs for similar institutions on
the same corner in Earlysville including Whytes Store, Kelly's Korner,
and Earlysville Auto.
Counseling
We would like to reapply in conjunction with Dr. Morris for the
1 signage situation around our building. Our requests are as follows:

1. That a low level monument sign identifying the building with

generic subtitles, i.e. f amily physicians, family counselor, family
industrial dentist, and fitness center be allowed along 743 with a 1 foot setback as
Medicine discussed. 16rfeet should be sufficient.

2. That our current 9 foot sign with 2 dangling attachments be
allowed on the corner of our upper parking lot.
3. That a 2 x 3 foot sign be allowed at the corner of the turn in
to the rear lot and rear tenant entrance as well as Dr. Morris' portion
of the building and finally that the 2 ft identification signs be
allowed on the walls for each of the condominium sites.
Enclosed is a picture of how I would expect the monument sign to
look along 743. We can discuss this at further length at your
convenience. Thank you for your consideration.
