Hopefully, the paperwork is in order, and we will be on the docket for November 13, 1990. Please let me know the time and place for the meeting, as I will be in attendance representing the client. Our firm was retained by Westminster-Canterbury to develop and implement a comprehensive exterior and interior signage program for the new complex. Over twenty-two years of experience in providing solutions to aid in directing, identifying, informing and controlling vehicular and pedestrian traffic was drawn upon to provide the best solution for signage graphics for our client. I personally visited three departments at the county administration building to discuss the program and determine which signs would require permits. Realizing the four square foot area limitation on directional signs was to prohibitive to properly display the needed information at a reasonable letter height, we designed a system based upon a minimum cap height that was effectively readable by visually impaired users. This cap height, number and length of messages, and directional arrow placement resulted in the sign size required to provide a solution at intersections that would insure safety and ease of visual communication. Since the size of the sign panel exceeds the four square foot allowable, we will present our case for consideration of a variance for our client. Any additional information you may be able to provide me in planning for this meeting will be greatly appreciated. Our only desire is to provide our client, and the community, with the best possible long-term solutions to their signage needs. Architectural Graphics,Inc. 2655 International Pkwy/P.O. Box 9175/Virginia Beach, VA 23450/(804)427-1900 MI I Mr. John Grady Page 2 Should you desire any additional information from me, please do not hesitate to let me know.
