Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
This letter is to notify you, as adjoining property owners, that
Whiting Oil Co. , Inc. (owners) , property described as Tax Map 61W,
Parcel 03-12 , Zoned C-1, Commercial, has made application for
VA-91-07 , requesting relief from Sections 21. 7 and 21. 7 . 1 of the
Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance, as follows:
Applicant seeks a variance to reduce front setback from 30
to 20 feet from the right-of-way of Route 29 for construction
of a new fuel dispensing island.
A public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals on
February 12 , 1991, at 3 : 00 p.m. , in Meeting Room #7 , Second Floor,
County Office Building, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville,
Virginia.
This application is made available for your review in the
Albemarle County Zoning Office, 401 McIntire Road,
Charlottesville, Virginia.

RE: Variance Application Stop In Food Stores - US 29 and
Greenbrier Drive
Dear Mr. Blankinship:
Attached please find your receipt for the variance application for
setback reduction for new fuel pumps on Route 29 North. As you
know, separate from the setback approval from the Board of Zoning
Appeals is approval of the site plan amendment for the expansion
of use. If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you
contact a Planner in the Department of Planning and Community
Development. Site planning issues such as circulation and access
points should most appropriately be addressed even prior to the
variance review.
Additional information needed for the variance review should
include:
1. A scaled site plan showing the proposal, with accurate
dimension to the property line from the proposed fuel pumps.
The plan submitted is not to scale and is difficult to read.
2 . A written description of the proposal and justification for
the variance. (See the enclosed Zoning Ordinance section) .
Once this information is complete, we can schedule the variance
according to the filing deadline (attached) . If you have any
questions, please contact our office.
