Dear Mr. and Mrs. DeHooge:
I am currently reviewing a plat entitled, "Subdivision Plat of
Parcels W, X and Y; Parcels W and Y, a portion of TMP 31-44. . .Parcel
X, a portion of TMP 31-44D. . .Parcels W and X being combined to form
one lot. . . " My comments here are regarding the new parcel "W-X" of
2.736 acres. The area available for constructing a dwelling is
sufficient for meeting our Subdivision Ordinance and we will sign
this plat as soon as we receive approval from the Health Department
and the Virginia Department of Transportation. However, this same
confined area for building does not leave you (or the future owner of
this lot) much depth for a typical single-family dwelling. No part
of a dwelling including decks and porches may extend beyond the
buildable area. Since this is a self-imposed hardship, staff will
not support any future request for a variance from setback or lot
width.
If you wish to discuss alternatives, please call me or your surveyor.

Dear Sirs:
We object to the request of relief from Section
10.4 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance sought by
our good neighbor Iv_r. Dirk G. Dehooge, Sr to reduce the
lot frontage along an exterior public road from 250 to
235 feet and the lot width from 250 to 210 feet for a
proposed family subdivision lot.
Denying the request should not burden the property
owner with an undue hardship because he already has a lot
zoned a short distance to the north of the proposed variance
and sufficient acreage for five or six more lots.

ship in this case and the belief that laws are meant to be
upheld or else changed.
