This letter is to notify you, as adjoining property owners, that James and Linda Schmidt
(owners), property described as Tax Map 32F, Parcel 01-B25, Zoned Rural Areas, Rivanna
Magisterial District,has made application for VA-93-36, requesting relief from Section 10.4 of
the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance, as follows:
Variance to reduce the side setback from 25 to 10 ft, for the construction of
a carport addition to the house.
A public hearing will be held by the Board of Zoning Appeals on November 9, 1993, at 3:00
p.m., in Meeting Room #7, Second Floor, County Office Building, 401 McIntire Road,

of Terrybrook, Albemarle County, Virginia acknowledge the need for a
variance for the construction of an attached carport at the above listed
address. We recognize that the proposed carport would be more structurally
sound, retain all of the current shrubbery buffer and be more esthetically
pleasing than a free-standing de-tached carport currently allowed without a
variance. Therefore we support the Schmidt's request for a variance for the
