This email confirms Fire Rescue's acceptance of the 12' wide gate, access road and the proposed turn around based on allowances in the fire code. Please have the site contractor contact our office during construction to provide for emergency access for any locks on the gate or structure. This email is seeking your written confirmation that, as you explained to me, though there is a fire code requirement for access to cell sites, there is an exception available that permits you to authorize a 12' wide access road and 12' wide gate into the compound if the access is on a divided roadway or private drive. In this case, access is by private drive, and we do show a 12' wide accessway and 12' wide gate. Also, you note that, if the distance from the road to the site exceeds 150', fire trucks do need the ability to turn around at the site, and I'm asking you also to confirm that the bump out we depict on C-1A will suffice for the necessary turn. Finally, I understand from you that there does need to be a way for fire rescue to get into the gate if locked, and we can work with you on that issue. Thanks again for your help on this matter.
