RE: ARB-2019-94: Staybridge Suites — Wall Sign
Dear Ms. Robinson,
I have reviewed the above -noted sign applications. The following revisions are requested to make the
proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines.
2. Revise the sign plan to specify that all portions of the sign (letters and logo/graphic) are channel
letters and are mounted to the wall. Address the following:
a. Add a general note specifying that all portions of both wall signs are "channel letters". If
this is not correct specify which components are "cabinet" components. In order for
them to be all "channel letter" type 100% of their front surface would be the
maroon/brown color and no portion of the sign's components would be white.
Rev. 1: Comment not yet fully addressed. Address the following:
i. Revise the note on the 2"a page of the sign plan to state, "All components of this
sign, including letters and graphics, are channel letters style components and will
be mounted directly on the wall." The way the note is worded in this second
submission, and with the arrow pointing only to the "Staybridge" portion of the
sign, it seems to state only "Staybridge" is channel letters.
ii. Add the note, as specified in "i." above, to sheet 4 of the sign plan as well so that
it is clear that the wall sign on the side of the building is also comprised
completely of "channel letter" style components.
Rev. 2: Comment not fully addressed. Revise the notes on both sheets 2 & 4 to specify "All
components of this sign, including the letters and the bridge logo, are channel letters stile
components and will be flush -mounted to the wall surface."
12. Rev. 1 [NEW COMMENT]: Provide revision dates on the next resubmission.
Rev. 2: Comment should be addressed again. Revision dates were provided but must be provide
again on the next resubmission.

13. Rev. 2 [NEW COMMENT]: A revision to sign # 2, on the side of the building, was made in this
last submission that includes "surface wiring". This will be allowed for this one sign in these
specific circumstances. However, please note that it is being allowed only on sign #2 and only
because of distance from the entrance corridor roads and the degree to which other buildings in
the area block its view. It should not be assumed that "surface wiring" will be approved in any
future submission.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period
associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised
drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your
application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the
application without further revisions.
