Your sign application was for two things; separate but related. The Architectural Review Board (ARB) sign application which I am handling, and the sign permit application which Jeff Baker, Zoning Permit Planner is overseeing. I have copied Jeff so he can reply to your two questions below (highlighted) — as they are sign permit related questions. Regarding the ARB sign application I am reviewing, you need to address my last comment below (green highlight). If you don't do that I will have to deem your application withdrawn. The project has stalled a bit, but seems to be moving forward. I had two quick questions for you that will help us determine when we want the permit 'official'. How long does the permit last for once issued? Does this application expire after a term if we were to sit on it without making it official? Thank you for your time! Once I hear from you I can get a better sense how Westminster would like to handle this. Have a great weekend. We have a sample of that brick in our storage closet so I have been able to determine that the proposed wall materials are appropriate. Your last step is to revise your sign drawing to include the proposed product ID and manufacturer: Brick: General Shale Annapolis blend. Mortar: Araos Pecan and email it back to me. I can then email you my ARB annroval letter. At that point, I will also be able to sign off on the sign permit (132018-018005) for the Architectural Review Board. The Zoning Division of our department mails you the approved sign permit once all reviewers have signed off in our application tracking system. Thanks for your help with this. However- we believe we have a match now for the existing sign walls along pantops, near the Westminster Entry. I have included a pdf here of the cut sheet. As well as jpeg images of the sign with the sample panels, and a photo of the mortar. The brick we propose to use is General Shale Annapolis blend, with a Argos Pecan for the mortar. Please let me know if you need anything else. We have a large inventory of brick samples from other applications, so we may already have a sample on hand to look at. Yes, I did receive the comments, and will provide the brick type and a sample in the near term. Do you need a physical sample or can it be a cut sheet or otherwise? Many thanks. From: Brent Nelson Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2018 4:58 PM To: 'anne pray' <annepray@gmail.com> Subject: ARB 2018-107, Westminister Canterbury Entrance Signs, Staff Comments Ms. Pray - I have reviewed the above -noted Architectural Review Board sign application. The following revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent with Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines. 1. Revise the sign drawing to indicate the manufacturer and product ID for the brick used in the wall; provide a sample. The brick color and style should coordinate with the existing freestanding monument signs located on each side of the intersection of Pantops Mountain Road and Richmond Road. 2. Show the location of the existing traffic control cabinet and junction box just west of the entrance road. Indicate it is to be relocated and where. 3. Show the location of the existing shrubs near the western sign entrance wall. Indicate if any are to be removed. 4. The sign drawing shows numerous existing utility easements where the sign is proposed. It is recommended that you verify there are no issues with each easement holder. Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the application without further revisions. If you have any questions about this action, please contact me as soon as possible.
