Hi Margaret,
That's a relief. Thank you.
1. On sheet 20,what does"the exaggerated spacing between the panels" mean? Can you clarify/explain?
Yes, please refer to page 14, exhibiting the facade of Albemarle High School. In this added facade, the panel
spacing is made evident by exaggerating it slightly. Also, please refer to page 17,where the the bottom right
image exemplifies this spacing. So instead of compressing the panels together,to make one mass facade, each
panel is atleast 1/2" away from each other,to scale down the mass of the facade, and create a pattern.
2. Skyline is referred to as a "line" of Neolith brand material. I take that to mean "Skyline" is not a particular
color. What color are you proposing? Please clarify/explain.
Yes,this is correct. Skyline is a line of Neolith. See more information here:
https://www.neolith.com/en/catalogs/visor?catalogo=00022
We are proposing using the "Arctic White" on the addition facade, to contrast the deep gray of
the local soapstone.
See a precedent exhibiting the contrasting colors attached (taken from the above catalogue):
3. Can you provide additional explanation for the configuration of the Big Bluestem?
Yes,the logic for the patterning is twofold:
1.To follow the patterning of the pavers-so extend the line from the long stone pavers towards Hydraulic,to
create a kind of visual porosity, and create framed views of the building, in addition to extending to create a
relationship with the sign for Albemarle Countertop Company.
2.To shift the patterning in select places, making the lines perpendicular to one another, to then filter some of
the air and sound polution coming from Hydraulic, so the entrance garden is a little more enjoyable to inhabit.
Best,
Erin

Erin,
Technically, the application wasn't complete without the elevations and applications don't get
scheduled for review until they are complete. Based on the other information you included in the
submittal, I thought that the elevations would have been easily available, and hoped to get them
quickly so your application could stay on the July 17 agenda. Submittal on Friday is making that
schedule extremely difficult, if not impossible.

I am submitting the ARB Proposal today for 2813

I want to make sure they get to you- is it ok to
drop them by the front office?
Best,
