The proposed RA zoning is consistent with Comp Plan designation of Parks and Open Space.The current zoning designations essentially maintains the passive open space conditions due to limited uses and activities permitted by the LI zoning in the floodplain.The.adjacent Moores Creek is a highly impaired stream. Impacts to water resources of converting current woodlands and passive open space within.floodplain, stream buffers and possible wetlands to active agriculture will be one of the primary issues to address..Narratives and supporting information for this application should address this issue: Understanding the type and scale of ag activity and the commitment to best management practices will be important to this review. A community meeting is required for this rezoning. It is recommended that that meeting be coordinated with any planned community meeting regarding the rezoning request for the adjacent property in the city. x .
