Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks, Polly On Aug 13, 2019, at 9:07 AM, Margaret Maliszewski<MMaliszewski@albemarle.org>wrote: Polly,Are there any drawings available of this design? Hope this helps. Thanks, Polly On Aug 9, 2019, at 2:03 PM, Margaret Maliszewski<MMaliszewski@albemarle.org>wrote: Polly, I'm not sure I follow your explanation about the rafters. Do you mean you can have exposed rafters extending to the north and south, but not to the west? Margaret From: Polly Davis Doig<davisdoig@gmail.com> Sent: Friday,August 09, 2019 1:46 PM To: Margaret Maliszewski<MMaliszewski@albemarle.org> Subject: Re:ARB action letter 1 Hi Margaret, I'm attaching cut sheets for the windows and doors, and the rest. A few notes: —The door will be wood-clad, not aluminum as per the cut sheet. —The window glass will be replaced within existing panes to preserve a more authentic look. The specs fall well within the ARB's requirements. —The attic vent will be preserved, as per the current photos of the building —that was just a designer overlook, and it needs to be there. — One wrinkle: My contractor has concerns about leaving exposed rafters facing the road as this eliminates the possibility of guttering and given the building's really close proximity to the road could create a potential hydroplaning hazard on 29 in hard rains. We will leave rafters exposed under the proposed porch, similar to the existing canopy which vents to the sides, and they would be rustic in nature and locally milled. — We see no problem with weaving the corners of the building in Hardi. Let me know if I've raised more questions than I've answered.
