Hey Margaret, -
Thanks, I aim to at least slightly entertain, even if at too much length;)
Your questions:
1. Are the elevation drawings to scale? If so, please identify the scale.
— I believe it's 1:20, but I can check with my designer. But she's well-versed in county code and
knows better than I what you're looking for. She actually did identify the scale of 20'on the GIS page.
2. Will the building be re-roofed? If so, please indicate material and color.
—There will be new metal roofs put on the front porch and the garage area. The existing metal
store roof will be power washed and painted to match. I believe the color is charcoal. It's currently a light silver and
dilapidated shingle roof over the garage. So this will be more muted and even.
3. Is mechanical equipment proposed to be mounted on the ground or on the building? If so,
details are needed.
— I think the only thing we're looking to put outside is two HVAC units behind the building,
though we think we can get them under the porch on the right of the building so that they're completely out of sight.
4. Will trees be cut to accommodate the parking? If so, please describe the extent of tree cutting '
required. Will other trees/shrubs be removed?
— Most of the trees had already been cut by the time I closed on the property;they were in bad
shape and threatening the building. There's really no existing landscaping per se, and there are a few trees on the back
two acres that we'll leave, but nothing of any size. Anything to the right of the store will be left.
5. Light fixture information appears to be incomplete; options need to be specified. Please
indicate the lamp(bulb)type and wattage for each fixture. If LED, please provide the total
lumens emitted by the fixture. (This can be obtained from the manufacturer's specs.)A
photometric diagram is needed for each fixture type. I could not find a link to the diagram in the
information you sent. You may need to contact the manufacturer for this.
—Storefront light: 14" shade, I was thinking LED,which can come in 850, 1250,2000,3000,or
4000 lumens. I was thinking 2000 as a reasonable compromise between light pollution and security. I have seen a lot of
people skulking around in the month I've owned the place.
https://www.barnlight.com/lighting/barn-lights/goosenecks/the-original-warehouse-
j gooseneck-light/
— Sign lights: 12" shade, incandescent, 200W max. Note that these come with a swivel,so
they'll be aimed directly at the sign,on either side of it. They also come with dusk-to-dawn photocells so they go off
automatically when the sun comes up.

6. What are the porch materials and colors?
— Pressure treated wood painted to match the building. We might try to get some cedar posts
in there, but they'll unfortunately be painted nonetheless. Porch will be ADA accessible.
7. Will windows and doors be replaced? If so, indicate which ones, and the proposed material and
color. Are all window/door opening sizes to remain as existing?
—All front windows and doors will be replaced in kind. We're just looking for sound-proofing
and energy upgrades.Triple-pane windows in the Arctic White color.
8. The$129 ARB sign fee is required.
— My husband dropped off both checks—the woman he gave everything else to stamped it for
him because I Wasn't sure who to make them out to. I believe one was for$660-something for the ARB application and
one for$129 for the sign.
Thanks, and please don't hesitate if you have more questions.Or worse, if my answers raised more questions than they
answered...

Hi Margaret,
I'm attaching everything here electronically for backup, but my husband did apparently manage to get everything
printed and will be by in a few hours.
Thanks so much for all your help, and let me know if I missed anything.
