Dear Neighbor,
The Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA and Milestone Partners invite you to attend a community meeting
on Thursday October 26th, 6:00pm at Woodbrook Elementary School.We plan to discuss our request to
rezone the parcel adjacent to the current Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA,TMP45-88,to allow for future
construction of a training center.We will also discuss our request to amend the CASPCA's Special Use
Permit to renovate and expand the current facility,and expand the Special Use Permit to the adjacent
parcel. These plans include construction of an approximately 9,200 sq.ft. cat facility and veterinary
clinic addition,and other existing shelter additions such as a salliport, intake addition and new entrance
totaling+/-3,225 sq.ft.The project includes renovation of the existing facility: dog kennels,vet clinic,
reception and front desk area, etc.The project will also consist of construction of additional parking and
a stormwater facility.The legal ads for these applications are included on the second page of this letter.
Interested parties may send an email request to eray@milestonepartners.co to get additional
information prior to the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for residents to receive information and ask
questions about the proposed project, County review procedures,and relevant regulations and policies
of the County applicable to the proposed project. The applicant and County Staff will be available at the
meeting to answer questions about the project and the review process.
The meeting will start (doors will open)at 6:00 PM. This is the regularly scheduled Places29-Rio
Community Advisory Committee meeting,and this project will be reviewed at the beginning of the
agenda. Woodbrook Elementary School is located at 100 Woodbrook Drive, Charlottesville,VA. From
Berkmar Drive,turn onto Woodbrook Drive,cross over Route 29 and continue to the end of the Road.

PETITION: Rezone 2.53 acres from R6 Residential zoning district,which allows residential uses at a
density of 6 units per acre to C-1 Commercial,which allows retail sales and service and residential by
special use permit(up to 15 units/acre).
