It meets the 100 feet. She did not say that it did or did not. She merely stated what the requirements are. It would
have been best if she had made it clear that it met the requirements. Her comment remained that if you want to reduce
it below 100 you could request that.
Hope this helps.

Bill: Looks like we meet the 100 ft dimension. Don't understand why we need a variation
request in light of this dimension. Can you please clarify?

Please see the attached exhibit. The required 100' length for the drive-thru from the center of the teller window to the
middle of the intersection is provided. Please let me know if you agree.

There is nothing for me to add. Tori gave you correct information. Is there anything else you need.

Subject: SDP2019-35 and drive-thrus
Hi John,
I just listened to your message regarding your question on where the 100-foot lane is measured for drive-thrus. 18-
5.1.60(j) reads:
Each drive -through lane shall be a minimum of one hundred (100) feet in length measured from the center of the first
window or service point. This length may be reduced if a study is submitted and approved by the director of community
development or his designee demonstrating that a shorter length will be sufficient for a particular use.
I had talked with Bill to confirm that the entrance to the drive-thru lane is measured from the middle of the intersection
per 18-5.1.60(i):
Each entrance to a drive -through lane shall be more than fifty (50) feet from any intersection with a public or private
street or travelway without parking.
However, it is my understanding that the drive-thru lane needs to be 100 feet, or justification for a shorter lane is
needed. I will let Bill weigh in as well, in case I am mistaken. Please note that I will be out of the office until September
16th
Best,
Tori
