PROPOSAL: Rezone property to allow for a mixed use development including a civic plaza PETITION: Rezone 6.25 acres from HI Heavy Industry (industrial and commercial uses, no residential use) and C-1 Commercial (retail sales and service; residential by special use permit (15 units/acre)) to DCD Downtown Crozet District (commercial, office, service, mixed with residential (up to 36 units/acre), light industrial uses and single family detached dwellings by special use permit) to allow a mixed use development. OVERLAY DISTRICT(S): EC, Entrance Corridor; Steep Slopes PROFFERS: Yes COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE/DENSITY: Mixed Office/Research & Development/Flex and Commercial which allows a mix of employment, retail, service uses with light industrial and residential uses (up to 36 dulacre) as secondary uses and Downtown which allows commercial, employment, office, institutional, office, research and development, and residential uses (up to 36 du/ac) in the Crozet Community. This petition will be reviewed and public comment received at the ALBEMARLE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING ON TUESDAY, August 6, 2019 The Albemarle County Planning Commission will meet at 6:00 p.m., Lane Auditorium, Second Floor, County Office Building, 401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Virginia. Should you wish to attend this meeting, you may call this office during the week of the meeting to ask the tentative time the item is scheduled on the agenda. After the Commission has taken action on the proposal, a second public hearing will be scheduled for the Board of Supervisors. The Board's meeting begins no sooner than 1:00p.m. Public hearing items are typically scheduled to begin at 6:00p.m. A letter of notification of this hearing will not be sent to adjoining owners; however, you may check this website: htto://albemarle.orcilupload/i'mages/webayr)s/zoning/ for SIGNS # 49&51 to see its status at any time.
