The scope of this work includes reducing the size of the front building, re -finishing the side elevation wall currently seen from from the Entrance Corridor as well as refinishing the newly exposed existing wall serving as the building's new front facade. Located on Route 29, the old furniture store is currently an unoccupied, somewhat neglected structure. The building appears dated and `out of place' as it is surrounded by a number of new and renovated projects designed to address ARB's Guidelines. Further, designed as a showroom, the existing building in its entirety is too deep to serve a useful function for the current landowner. While not completely demolishing the old building, we see this subtraction from the building as an amenity in the Entrance Corridor. It replaces the demolished portion with attractive landscaping - you will note the before and after rendering in the following pages. In addition, this building revision provides a more useful facitlity that also better aligns with the new Ford Dealership next door - both in its materiality and its front facade location. The newly exposed front of the building will be similar to the design and scale of the adjacent newly built Malloy Ford.
