This letter is to notify you that the following development proposal has been submitted to the County
for review:

ZMA-2002-08 South Pantops (Sign #83, 84) - Request to rezone 24.07 acres from PD-MC
(Planned District- Mixed Commercial) to PD-MC (Planned District- Mixed Commercial) to
amend a proffered plan to allow for an office use instead of a hotel use. The property,
described as Tax Map 78 Parcel 73A is located in the Rivanna Magisterial District on
Hanson Road in the Giant Shopping Center at Pantops. The Comprehensive Plan
designates this property as Regional Service and is located in Pantops.
SDP-2002-084 South Pantops Office — SDP 02-084 South Pantops Office Preliminary Site
Plan - Request for preliminary site plan approval to construct two office buildings totaling
43,200 sq. ft. on approximately 6.95 acres of a 24+ acre site. Property is zoned PD-MC
(Planned Development - Mixed Commercial) and is described as Tax Map 78, Parcel 73A.
It is located on Hansen Road off of U.S. Route 250 East (Richmond Road) in the Rivanna
Ridge Shopping Center(Giant Supermarket). This site is located in the Rivanna Magisterial
District and is recommended for Regional Service uses in Neighborhood 3 by the
Comprehensive Plan.
This development proposal is scheduled for the Site Review Committee meeting on the date listed
below. The applicant's attendance is not mandatory, although it may be requested by the County.
Regardless of whether the applicant will be attending, the County staff will be available for
consultation on the Site Review Committee meeting date at 10:00 a.m., in Room 235 of the County
Office Building on McIntire Road in Charlottesville. This meeting will be an informal session with
the Site Review Committee to discuss issues and share information.
The development proposal will be reviewed and approved, subject to compliance with applicable
ordinances, by the Site Review Committee, unless a request is made for Planning Commission
review in writing by a member of the Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, or an abutting
property owner by the request for Review deadline. If requested for review, the development
proposal will be reviewed by Planning Commission. All applicable dates scheduled for this
development proposal are listed below.

Revision & Request for Review deadline (Mon) August 12, 2002
Planning Commission meeting (Tues) October 1, 2002
Plans for the proposed development are available for your review in the Department of Planning and
Community Development. Interested members of the public are encouraged to contact this
department at any time during working hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m., Mon-Fri), and make an appointment
to discuss the proposed development. Should you wish to attend the Site Review Committee
meeting, please notify the Department of Planning and Community Development so that any
concerns may be adequately addressed.
