This letter is to notify you as an adjacent property owner of the above -referenced petition. The owner has
requested a special exception to reduce the required 125' setback for a homestay use.
PROJECT: HS202000003
PROPOSED: Request for special exception to reduce the required 125' setback for a homestay use from a
side property line.
ZONING CATEGORY/GENERAL USAGE: RA Rural Area - agricultural, forestal, and fishery uses;
residential density (0.5 unit/acre in development lots)
SECTION: 5.1.48(i)(1)(ii).
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE/DENSITY: Rural Area — preserve and protect agricultural,
forestal, open space, and natural, historic and scenic resources; residential (0.5 unit/ acre in development
lots)
ENTRANCE CORRIDOR: No

MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT: Scottsville
Special exceptions must be acted on by the Board of Supervisors, and may be granted after notice to
abutting property owners and upon consideration of the following:
i. There is no detriment to any abutting lot
ii. There is no harm to public health, safety, or welfare
This petition will be reviewed at the ALBEMARLE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020. The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will
meet at 1:00 p.m., Lane Auditorium, Second Floor, County Office Building, 401 McIntire Road,
Charlottesville, Virginia.

tentative time the item is scheduled on the agenda. Alternatively, you may sign up for A -mail by going to
