Additional documentation/information for this project continued
• ARB application required as well - visual impacts and mitigation of those impacts will be
important to address; provide aerial maps for both SP and ARB showing intended corridor route
- 1) map of overall route and 2) larger -scale, zoomed -in maps of sections along route for easier
analysis
• This project as proposed will require an easement with VDOT for ROW and will require VDOT
review
• Review Section 5.1.12, Public Utility structures/uses, in Chapter 18 of the Zoning ordinance, for
supplementary regulations
• In project narrative, in addition to addressing public need for this project and how this project
meets the criteria for a special use permit in section 33.40, demonstrate why this location is
being proposed for the power line enhancements instead of another route or location. Also,
address construction methods in the project narrative.
• Address any staging areas created for construction and installation, including location of staging
areas, any grading that may occur, parking areas for trucks and equipment, entrances into
construction/staging areas, expected levels of traffic from trucks and equipment
• If this project has an impact on stream buffers, address these impacts, which will require either
County Engineering review or a state permit that supersedes County review.
• A Critical Slopes waiver will need to be requested if any critical slopes are proposed to be
impacted by this project.
