5. In the "Recommended Approach" section, there is a potential conflict between the
recommendation for small floor plates and the larger footprints noted for The Square.
6. Mentioning the ARB Guidelines and how the Crozet Guidelines relate to the Entrance
Corridor could help reduce procedural conflicts.
7. The Crozet Guidelines aim to establish a cohesive whole that encompasses a variety of
types and characters. Additional language may be needed to clarify how this well -ordered
variety meets the EC Guidelines.
OTHER BUSINESS
a. ARB-2019-115: Spirit Halloween Sign
After considering the information presented by staff, it was the consensus of the ARB that a
Comprehensive Sign Plan was not needed for the Fashion Square Mall at this time and the Spirit
Halloween sign was acceptable as installed due to the minimal visual impact resulting from the
distance from the Entrance Corridor street.
b. ARB-2019-65: Shops at Riverside Village CSP
Motion: Mr. Van Der Werf moved to approve a change to the Comprehensive Sign Plan for the
Shops at Riverside Village to include the thin cabinets with illuminated push through letters for
the brown canopy faces to replace the individual channel letters that were previously approved
for those locations.
Mr. Stoner seconded the motion.
The motion carried by a vote of 4:0. (Wardell absent)
c. Razor's Edge Sign Hollymead Town Center
Motion: Mr. Stoner moved to approve a change to the Comprehensive Sign Plan for the
Hollymead Town Center Area B to limit the sign colors for buildings C, D, E, F and K to red and
white for nighttime illumination and to allow black as an additional daytime color.
Mr. Van Der Werf seconded the motion.
The motion carried by a vote of 4:0. (Wardell absent)
