THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING THE PROPER SERVICE AUTHORITY OFFICIALS AT THE START OF THE WORK. 2. THE LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES ACROSS THE LINE OF THE PROPOSED WORK ARE NOT NECESSARILY SHOWN ON THE PLANS AND WHERE SHOWN, ARE ONLY APPROXIMATELY CORRECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL, ON HIS OWN INITIATIVE, LOCATE ALL UNDERGROUND LINES AND STRUCTURES AS NECESSARY. 3. ALL MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION SHALL COMPLY WITH GENERAL WATER AND SEWER CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS AS ADOPTED BY THE ALBEMARLE COUNTY SERVICE AUTHORITY ON JANUARY 15, 1998. 4. DATUM FOR ALL ELEVATIONS SHOWN IN NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING "MISS UTILITY" (1-800-552-7001). 6. ALL WATER AND SEWER PIPES SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 FT. OF COVER MEASURED FROM THE TOP OF THE PIPE, OVER THE CENTERLINE OF PIPE. THIS INCLUDES ALL FIRE HYDRANT LINES, SERVICE LATERALS AND WATERLINES, ETC. 7. ALL WATER AND SEWER APPURTENANCES ARE TO BE LOCATED OUTSIDE OF ROADSIDE DITCHES. 8. VALVES ON DEADEND LINES SHALL BE RODDED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE RESTRAINT FOR THE VALVE DURING A FIXTURE EXTENSION OF THE LINE. 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL NECESSARY PERMITS, INSPECTIONS, BONDS, AND OTHER APPROVAL RELATED ITEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL AND STATE POLICY. THE DIVISION OF SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND RECREATION MUST BE NOTIFIED (804-371-0041) ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE, ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY, AND ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE FINAL INSPECTION. 3. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB SITE CONDITIONS IS REACHED ON ANY PORTION OF THE SITE. TEMPORARY SOIL DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT. INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS AND PROPERTY; THAT STABILIZATION SHALL BE APPLIED WITHIN SEVEN DAYS TO DENUDED THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS; AND THAT THE AREAS THAT MAY NOT BE AT FINAL GRADE BUT WILL REMAIN DORMANT CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD THE OWNER AND THE ENGINEER HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL (UNDISTURBED) FOR LONGER THAN 30 DAYS.
