Hunt Drive and Fontaine Ave (see attached) and that the proposed vehicle entrance be removed from the off-site road improvements plan. It is a functioning paved & lit pedestrian access route from the Park to Scott Stadium (see attached). Therefore, the County recommends not including a VDOT entrance there. We recommend a minimum 10'wide"zebra stripe" crosswalk be included at the intersection with the pavement marking plans to accommodate this pedestrian traffic (but will defer to VDOT). Rt. 29 is posted at 55 MPH, so assuming a highway design speed of 60 MPH, an acceptable ramp design speed ranges from 30-50 MPH.The existing ramp geometry(minimum radii and superelevation) is consistent w/ 30 MPH design speed, so since we are modifying an existing ramp,we elected to use the lower range acceptable in AASHTO (from this chart) to widen the ramp (to match existing geometry). Please provide more information relative to the use of 60 MPH.Thanks. Brian Copeland, P.E.
