PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANY CONSTRUCTION WITHIN ANY EXISTING PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY, INCLUDING CONNECTION TO ANY EXISTING ROAD, A PERMIT FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ( HEREAFTER ABBREVIATED V.D.O.T. ). 2. ALL PAVING AND DRAINAGE RELATED MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION METHODS SHALL CONFORM TO CURRENT SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS OF V.D.O.T. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. 3. EROSION AND SILTATION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED EROSION CONTROL PLAN AND SHALL BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO ANY CLEARING, GRADING OR OTHER CONSTRUCTION. 4. ALL SLOPES AND DISTURBED AREAS ARE TO BE FERTILIZED, SEEDED AND MULCHED. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE FILL OR CUT SLOPE IS 2:1. WHERE REASONABLY OBTAINABLE LESSER SLOPES OF 4:1 OR BETTER ARE TO BE ACHIEVED. 5. ALL DRAINAGE INLETS SHALL HAVE A 2 INCH LOCAL DEPRESSION UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN. 8. PAVED OR RIP RAP LINED DITCH MAY BE REQUIRED WHEN IN THE OPINION OF THE DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING, OR HIS DESIGNEES, IT IS DEEMED NECESSARY IN ORDER TO STABILIZE A DRAINAGE CHANNEL. 7. ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS SHALL CONFORM WITH THE VIRGINIA MANUAL FOR UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES, LATEST EDITION. S. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ALL CONCRETE PIPE SHALL BE REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE CLASS 111. 9. ALL EXCAVATION FOR UNDERGROUND PIPE INSTALLATION SHALL COMPLY WITH OSHA STANDARDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY (29 CFR PART I M ). 10. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK ANY OR ALL DIMENSIONS, SITE CONDITIONS, FINAL GRADING AND FIELD LAYOUT ON THIS PROJECT AND REPORT ALL INCONSISTANCIES TO THE ENGINEER, SURVEYOR, ARCHITECT AND OR OWNER. SHOULD THE CONTRACTOR FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE HE WILL ASSUME TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERRORS AND OR INCONSISTANCIES. 11, OUTDOOR LIGHTING SHALL BE DIRECTED AWAY FROM ROADWAYS AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES AND SHIELDED WHERE NECESSARY. 12. ALL SERVICE UTILITIES ARE TO BE PLACED UNDERGROUND. 13. IN LIEU OF CONCRETE STORM DRAIN PIPE ADS N.12 CORRUGATED POLYETYLENE PIPE MAY BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH BEDDING TYPE PS. 1. ALL ELEVATIONS ARE BASED ON U.S.C. AND G.S. DATUM. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING ' MISS UTILITY (1 800 652 7001 ). 6. ALL WATER AND SEWER PIPES SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 FEET OF COVER MEASURED FROM THE TOP OF PIPE, OVER THE CENTERUNE OF PIPE. THIS INCLUDES ALL FIRE HYDRANT LINES, SERVICE LATERALS AND WATERLINES, ETC. 7. 2(Y WIDE EASEMENTS, CENTERED ON THE PIPELINE AND APPURTENANCES SHALL BE DEDICATED TO THE ALBEMARLE COUNTY SERVICE AUTHORITY, EXCEPT WHERE THE LINE IS IN A PUBLIC ROAD RIGHT OF WAY OR AN ACCESS EASEMENT, IN WHICH CASE THE ACCESS EASEMENT SHALL ALSO BE DEDICATED AS A UTILITY EASEMENT. 8, 3"MIN. TOUCH READ METERS ARE BEING USED BY THE ALBEMARLE COUNTY SERVICE AUTHORITY. TO ACGOMODATE THESE METERS, METER LIDS WILL REQUIRE A 1 3/4' HOLE TAPPED INTO THE CENTER OF THE UD. BLIND TAPS OR PLUGS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT DEBRIS FROM ENTERING THE BOX PRK)R TO METER INSTALLATION. 10. ALL WATER AND SEWER APPURTENANCES ARE TO BE LOCATED OUTSIDE OF ROADSIDE DITCHES. 11. CERTIFICATION THAT 96 PER CENT COMPACTION IS OBTAINED SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR ALL FILL AREAS UNDER WATER AND SEWER LINES AND APPURTENANCES. THIS CERTIFICATION SHALL BE SIGNED BY A PROFESSKXAAL GEOLOGIST. THE CERTIFICATION SHALL STATE THE EXACT AREA THAT THE CERTIFICATION APPLIES TO. 12.
