Good morning — I'd say you are improving an existing condition for a single dwelling so fire rescue wouldn't have any
objections to it based on the fact it will support fire apparatus. I would ask that we ensure it's a 10' unobstructed travel
way on the bridge.

Shawn, Good morning, hope you are doing well, I have attached our full floodplain
development permit plan which shows a proposed 10'-wide bridge serving one single-
family residential lot (TMP 104-14133) in the rural area. I've also attached just the site
plan sheet and pasted in a photo below of existing conditions.
Jacobs Creek Flood Study
Their current access floods often and they would like to improve their access with a
bridge. They have also completed the structural design of the bridge to support fire
truck loading and will be submitting that permit later today. Thanks! Mike

Frank, Did you ever get a chance to forward the FDP Plan to Shawn Maddox? I would
like to follow up with Shawn to see if he is OK with the 10'-width. Thanks! Mike

Engineering Comments:
- Bridge may need to be wider than 10-ft to meet fire rescue standards. I have forwarded on the plans for Fire
Department review.
- Sheet 2 of 7 - Section Z-Z - two 10-yr elevations are shown, should one of these be the 100-yr elevation?
- Remove dimensions of abutments/foundations unless this matches the final design by the structural engineer.
Structural engineering drawings are required to be submitted before approval to ensure the bridge area impeding flow
matches.
- Bridge will most likely include guide rails on each side, which will decrease the area of flow. Update model to include
the guards once structural design is complete or near complete. Provide the 'blockage/fill' area at each bridge section
(for the proposed condition).
- Owner may want to consider paving bridge approaches to eliminate concern of washout of gravel.
