Frank, Here is a LINK to the below files that shall be our resubmission of the Flood Study for Jacobs Creek. • Flood Study Plans dated 3/30/20 • Flood Study Engineering Report dated 3/30/20 • HEC-RAS files • Structural Engineering Permit Plan Here is how we addressed your comments: Engineering Comments: - Bridge may need to be wider than 10-ft to meet fire rescue standards. I have forwarded on the plans for Fire Department review. Shawn Maddox accepted 10-foot clear (see attached email). The bridge has been widened to 11-feet, since we have also added a 6"-wide guide rail on either side of the bridge. - Sheet 2 of 7 - Section Z-Z - two 10-yr elevations are shown, should one of these be the 100-yr elevation? Section Z-Z has been corrected. The topmost elevation is the 100-yr WSE. - Remove dimensions of abutments/foundations unless this matches the final design by the structural engineer. Structural engineering drawings are required to be submitted before approval to ensure the bridge area impeding flow matches. The dimensions have been updated to match the final design by the structural engineer. - Bridge will most likely include guide rails on each side, which will decrease the area of flow. Update model to include the guards once structural design is complete or near complete. Provide the 'blockage/fill' area at each bridge section (for the proposed condition). 1 6x6 pressure treated guide rails have been added to each side of the bridge. The model has been updated to include the guide rails. Also, the fill area has been noted at each bridge section for the proposed condition (and the existing condition). - Owner may want to consider paving bridge approaches to eliminate concern of washout of gravel. Acknowledged. Thanks for taking the time to review this as we look forward to getting started on the construction over the next couple of weeks.
