Design Focused Engineering May 01, 2020 Richard Nelson County of Albemarle ACSA 401 McIntire Road, North Wing Charlottesville, Virginia 22902 RE: Response Letter #1 for SUB202000032 Avon Industrial Park Dear Richard, Thank you for your review of the Road Plan request for Avon Industrial Park. This letter contains responses to County comments dated April 17, 2020. Our responses are as follows: General: 1. Submit water and sewer data sheets. The water and sewer data sheet is attached with this letter. Sheet C6: 1. Water connection cannot be made behind existing water meter. An 8" TS&V will need to be installed and the existing meter vault abandoned. Acknowledged, the existing meter vault is now marked as "TBA," and the water line is now connected to the water main with an 8"x8" TS & V. 2. ACSA does not want parallel water mains on this site. If the desire is to avoid rerouting the building plumbing, the meters can be installed near the water main. The meters are now installed near the water main and four (4) 1" water service lines were designed instead of the parallel water main. 3. Install FHA at corner of curve. We understand that the FHA has a 40 ft minimum requirement off of the building; therefore, we have relocated the FHA instead of adding a new one. See Sheet C5. 4. Meter boxes for lots 5-9 should be traffic rated typical and something installed around them to prevent people from parking on top of them. The meter boxes for Lot 5-9 are located as close as possible to existing curbs thus, these curbs will provide a barrier to prevent people from parking on top of them. See figure on the next page for clarification. 912 E. Looking at google maps, lot 1 and 2 store vehicles where the proposed sewer is, make sewer segment 113_1A DIP. The proposed sewer has been kept as SDR-26 for this submission, we will continue further discussions on this but essentially, we do not believe that for this case vehicle storage justifies making sanitary sewer that only serves four wear houses to be ductile iron. 6. 2 laterals enter MH 2A. one presumably serves Lot 5-9. This should be abandoned at the manhole. The other serves 1895 Avon. Show a connection for their lateral in MH 213. Ensure they are aware of possible disruption to their sewer during construction. Acknowledged, the two laterals are now shown. See Sheet C2. Sheet C7: 1. 1" TSVs should be 1" corp. stops. Acknowledged, the TS&V's have been replaced with 1" Corp. Stop.
