Was the plat recorded in the Clerk's Office? If not, that's the last step that your seller was mentioning to you. If it was not recorded, then you'd need to take the approved plat to the Clerk's Office and have it recorded. Once that takes place then it's a done deal. Let me know how you want to proceed ... I can begin processing a refund upon your request. We purchased the property in April and were told by the previous owner (Jennifer Mitchell) that the transfer of the .15 sliver of land had not been "registered" yet, so I assumed she meant with the County. If it is all done and on the books, great! and I assume I can be refunded my $215 processing fee? If not on the books, what are next steps? I am having trouble understanding what is being proposed. The plat that was submitted has already been reviewed and approved by Albemarle County back in Dec of 2019 (see attached). Please explain what is taking place with the current application.
