Changes/additions to drawings per ARB comments dated May 12t', 2020.
Architecture
1. Revise the design of the hyphen to demonstrate sensitivity to the adjacent historic structures
with a smaller form and appropriate detailing.
See entire architectural set. Plans, Elevations and Section sheets updated with new hyphen
design. Additional comment by DHR addressed in revisions as well. List of changes by sheet
below:
A000 — Title Sheet
• Existing Basement Plan added and sheet numbers changed for existing floor plans
• Civil sheets added to drawing list
SPI00 — Existing Site Plan
• Additional sheet notes added to describe other structures on the property.
SPI 01 —Proposed Site Plan
• Additional sheet notes added to describe other structures on the property.
• Added a general note in the corner to direct individuals to civil and landscape
drawings for more information on the site and plantings.
• Changes to building footprint including revised "hyphen" and dropped ridge height of
back addition bubbled to address ARB comment #1 and comments received from the
DHR.
EXI00 — Existing Basement Floor Plan
• Sheet added to finalize known existing conditions.
EX101—Existing First Floor Plan
• Sheet number changed to better organize and separate existing floor plans from
proposed ones.
• Elevation markers added for better sheet coordination and clarity.
EX102 — Existing Second Floor Plan
• Sheet number changed to better organize and separate existing floor plans from

A103 — Proposed First Floor Plan
• Elevation markers and section cuts added for better sheet coordination and clarity.
• Changes to porch at "hyphen" bubbled to address ARB comment #1
• Door on south wall of "hyphen" updated to reflect new design: wood and glass door
with no side lites. Ties into overall redesign of "hyphen" which address ARB
comment #1.
• Hyphen overall width dimension updated to reflect current design.
• Room 103 renamed "Sitting Room" and Room 104 renamed "Meeting Room."
Furniture in floor plans updated to reflect function of rooms.
• Standard Mechanical note added to address ARB comment #3.
A104 — Proposed Second Floor Plan
• Elevation markers and section cuts added for better sheet coordination and clarity.
• New "hyphen" roof bubbled to address ARB comment 41
• Large picture windows replaced with new wooden double hung windows (to match
existing) on East fagade of back addition. This is to address the concern that the
windows might be visible from the entrance corridor, brought up in ARB Zoom
meeting on May 1 lth.
A105 — Roof Plan
• Elevation markers and section cuts added for better sheet coordination and clarity.

existing) on East fagade of back addition. This is to address the concern that the
windows might be visible from the entrance corridor, brought up in ARB Zoom

6. Provide photometric diagrams for the light fixtures.

9. Consider replacing the row of shrubs along the frontage with a more informal planting
consistent with the nearby context.

12. Revise the plans to clearly identify all trees to remain.
See Landscape Plan C-04A combined with C-03. C-03 indicates those trees scheduled for
removal and notes that all not explicitly slated for removal shall remain. C-04A calls out by
three methods all remaining trees to be preserved: tree preservation fencing, use of a circle as a
trunk indicator rather than a cross, and use of italic type in designation. This is noted in the
plan.
13. Revise the plans to identify the existing row of shrubs along the west side of the parcel on the
existing conditions plan and identify it as to remain on the landscape plan.
See Landscape Plan C04A for medium sized Arborvitae row along western property line. Those
(8) that are planted on subject property to remain. Majority (20) do not fall within subject
property boundary.
14. Show the tree protection fencing on the landscape plan.
