HomeMy WebLinkAboutSUB199800025 Approval - County Stormwater Management Plan 1998-08-13ALBEMARLE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING FAX TRANSMITTAL to: Buddy Edwards address: B. Aubrey Huffman & Associates fax no.: (804) 979-1681 no. of pages: 3 (incld. cover) date: 12 August, 1998 re: Porter Village As requested, the pollutant removal requirement was discussed with staff and compared with the purpose of the Water Protection ordinance. We decided that we would continue to require stormwater management for this development. Since this is an AHIP project and to avoid further delays, David Hirschman and I felt obligated to be more active in resolution of this matter. So we made a visit to the site and "brainstormed" alternative practices that would achieve the water quality goal. We resolved that this could be accomplished by modifying the sediment traps to permanent BMP facilities at the end of the project (refer to the attached sketches). To expedite the process we thought that we'd attach the sketches to the E&S plan and approve the plan with the attachments, rather than have the information drafted onto the plan. The information would also be provided to the contractor with the permit. Please let us know (either 1, David, or Kenny) by the end of the day if you have any concerns with proceeding in this manner.
