Submittal
The Planner for the Planning Services Division of the Community Development Department (CDD) will approve the
plan referred to above when the following items have been satisfactorily addressed. The following comments are those
that have been identified at this time; additional comments or conditions may be added or eliminated based on further
review. [Each comment is preceded by the applicable reference to the Albemarle County Code.]

Review Status: Requested Changes
1. [General Comment]: Add the application number for this final site plan (SDP2020-00003) to the cover
sheet of the site plan.
RESPONSE: The application number has been added to the Cover Sheet.
2. [18-32.7.8; 18-4.151: Remove the proposed monument sign from all plan sheets. Monument signs are
approved through a separate application and process, not with a site plan. As such, they are not to be
depicted on site plans.
RESPONSE: The monument sign has been removed from all sheets.
3. [18-32.7.9]: Revise the Landscape Plan (sheet 6). Although 11 RC (Rhododendron catawba) are identified
at the southwest corner of the property, only ten are depicted.
RESPONSE: The landscape plan and tabulations have been updated to 10 RC.
4. [18-32.6.2.a, 32.5.2.n, and 32.7.2.3; SP2018-00007, SP2018-00008, and Special Exceptions]: The plat
dedicating the right-of-way and the temporary construction easement for the proposed 10'-wide multi -use
path along the front of the property must be approved and recorded prior to the approval of the final site plan.

Dear Mr. Reitelbach:
The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section has reviewed the 1895 Avon St. Ext. Albemarle Lemo - Final Site Plan, dated January
06, 2020, revised March 16, 2020 as submitted by 30 Scale, LLC, and offer the following
comment:
Land use
1. Please install CG-12, detectable warning surface on both sides of shared use path, so as to
direct pedestrian traffic safely across the entrance. Please see attachment.
A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the VDOT Charlottesville Residency Land Use Section at (434)
422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.

THE OFFSET OF THE DETECTABLE WARNING PANEL AT THE LANDING CENTER
IS 2" MAXIMUM WITH A 0" OFFSET AT EACH END. OFFSETS GREATER THAN 2"
ARE NOT PERMITTED AND REQUIRE THE DETECTABLE WARNINGS PANELS TO
BE CUT TO MATCH THE BACK OF CURB RADIUS.
