A new VSMP plan (not an amendment) will need to be submitted and approved. (Rev. 1) Comment not addressed. WP0201600054 is an early grading plan and does not match the currently proposed layout. 2. Provide Deed Book and page numbers for all required off -site easements prior to plan approval. (Rev. 1) Comment not addressed, response noted. 3. Pipe slopes will need to be less than 20%, with anchor block provided for slopes over 16% (County policy and VDOT Drainage Manual). (Rev. 1) Comment addressed. 4. Pipe velocities over 10 fps should be avoided (VDOT DM). (Rev. 1) Comment addressed. 5. Provide HGL calculations and show the HGL on the profiles. (Rev. 1) Comment addressed. 6. Provide a'h inch steel plate in storm manholes with drops or 4' or greater (VDOT DM). (Rev. 1) Comment addressed. 7. Provide the design for the riprap at the pipe outlets (VDOT DM). (Rev. 1) Comment addressed. 8. The maximum height of retaining walls located on managed slopes is 6' (18.30.7.5). It appears that reverse slope benches or surface water diversions may also be required. (Rev. 1) Comment partially addressed. The label on sheet 3 says max height 14'. The managed slope overlay hatch should be darkened, as it was hard to distinguish. Proposed slopes will still need to follow the design standards in 18.30.7.5 even if shown in a survey to not be 25% or more. Reverse slope benches/surface water diversion will be required per 18.30.7.5c every 20' height interval on 2:1 slopes. 9. Surveyor verification of the steep slopes will be required prior to VSMP approval. (Rev. 1) Comment not addressed, response noted. Revision 1 Comments Engineering Review Comments Page 2 of 2 10. Include on the plans the Public Road Acceptance Procedure and the As -built Road Plan Policy. 11. It appears there should be a drainage easement on Lots 61 and 62 for pipe 437 and on Inlet 454 on the existing lot. 12. [VSMP comment] SWM access path have a maximum allowable grade of 20% without being surfaced with gravel or pavement (25% with surface). The access should also be moved outside of the preserved slopes. [DSM, policy] Transportation Planner — Daniel Butch Refer to the VDOT Road Design Manual Appendix B - 1 for appropriate street trees within planting strip adjacent to sidewalks. Planning — Tori Kanellopoulos Planning comments are attached to this email. VDOT, E911 and Fire Rescue had no objection. ACSA comments will be forwarded when they are received.
