I'll wait to hear from you regarding the ARB meeting, and will follow up with Ron Higgins — From: Heather McMahon [mailto:hmcmahon@albemarle.org] Sent: Tuesday, June 27, 2017 5:13 PM To: William McKechnie <wmckechnie@comcast.net> Cc: Margaret Maliszewski <MMaliszewski@albemarle.org>; Christopher LeBlanc <Christopher.r.leblanc@gmail.com> Subject: RE: MT ARB exposed brick Yes, I think a pre-app meeting is the best way to try to get this dumpster relocation issue resolved. I am not sure how to set one up, exactly: I would call our main number (296-5832) to talk with our intake staff about scheduling a pre-app in the near future. The County offices are closed Monday, 7/3, so the next available would be Monday, 7/10. We offer 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 time slots; please choose a 3-4 or 4-5 slot so that it will not conflict with the ARB meeting (and I can be sure to attend) if that meeting is held. Right now, we have no cases for the 7/10 meeting and the "other business" items on the agenda are so few that it may not make sense to hold a meeting; in which case, we would move those few business items to the 7/17 meeting and cancel the 7/10 altogether. Margaret usually makes that decision the Monday before the meeting, but since we have that Monday (7/3) off as a holiday, she has informed me she will make the call by the end of this week. So I will be in touch with you by Friday as to whether the 7/10 meeting will be canceled or not. Per a previous phone call, you had suggested requesting a Monday afternoon pre -application meeting, with all parties in attendance. Since County offices are closed this coming Monday (7/3), I assume the soonest this can happen is 7/10. When will you know of the exact date of the ARB meeting? Thanks for your support on these matters, William McKechnie 434.906.5787 wmckechnie@comcast.net From: Heather McMahon [mailto:hmcmahon@albemarle.org] Sent: Tuesday, June 27, 2017 3:47 PM To: Christopher LeBlanc <christopher.r.leblanc gmail.com> Cc: Margaret Maliszewski <MMaliszewski@albemarle.org>; William McKechnie <wmckechnie@comcast.net> Subject: RE: MT ARB exposed brick Hi Chris, Thank you for bringing in the brick samples on Friday. As per your request, we will seek the ARB's guidance on whether to amend the original design intention to paint the foundation brick at the next ARB meeting, which will be either July 10 or July 17. If you believe you'll have any more changes or requests in the interim, please give them to me in writing well before the July 10 meeting so that we can present the board with a comprehensive list of suggested modifications. In the interim, I'd like to move forward on getting you a CoA for the new coping material, the substitution of metal for wood on the brise soleil, and for the fixed doors. I think this would be the most expeditious way for you to move forward, but it will mean that i will not be able to include the dumpster relocation as per the original application request as I have not received an approved LOR for that request. In addition, this CoA will only address the three aforementioned modifications that were specified in your original application. If you decide to move forward with leaving the foundation brick unpainted, you will need to submit another ARB application for a County -wide CoA for Minor amendments to site or architectural plans (no fee associated): Application: http://www.albemarle.org/upload/images/forms center/departments/Community Development/forms/arb applicatio ns/ARB Application 11 2015.0f ChPrkiiet http://www.albemarle.org/upload/images/forms center/departments/Community Development/forms/arb applicatio ns/ARB Minor Amendment Checklist July 2010 pdf Please respond at your earliest convenience to acknowledge this and let me know whether you agree to this suggestion on how to proceed.
