High Street Charlottesville, VA 22902 RE: ARB-2020-53: Regents School of Charlottesville (TMP: 07500-00-00-06600) Dear Applicant, I have reviewed the plans with revision date of June 22, 2020 submitted for the above referenced project. The changes made in these plans address the conditions of approval outlined in the action letter sent June 12, 2020. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. This approval is specifically conditioned on the following: 1. Execution of the design indicated on the final approved plans, attachments, materials, samples, and other submittal items presented. 2. Mechanical equipment shall not be visible from the Entrance Corridor. Please note the following: 1. This approval is based, in part, on very limited architectural information and on the understanding that topography and wooded area will screen proposed buildings from view. If the review of future building permits reveals that buildings will be visible from the Entrance Corridor, or if the proposal changes such that the visibility changes, then additional review will be required. Future phases or amendments may require review depending on visibility. 2. Any changes in the approved design will require a new application and additional review. 3. Changes made to the site or architectural plans after issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness can delay the signing of final site plans and the approval of building permits. It is in the applicant's best interest to notify ARB staff of such changes and to initiate the review of amendments to ARB-approved plans to avoid future delays. 4. Certificates of Appropriateness are valid for the same period that the corresponding site plan is valid. If there is no site plan required for the proposed work, the Certificate of Appropriateness is valid for 3 years. Applicants requesting an extension of the period of validity must do so in writing. The letter must be received by the Director of Planning prior to the expiration date. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
