Dear Mr. Collins,
The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board reviewed the above noted item at its meeting on
Monday, August 3, 2020. The Board unanimously approved the request, pending staff
administrative approval of the following conditions:
1. Provide window glass information.
2. Provide physical samples of proposed building materials.
3. Clarify the proposed color for the metal wall panels.
4. Revise the plans to show the locations of all mechanical equipment. Show how visibility
of the equipment will be eliminated from the EC.
5. Revise the photometric plan to provide illumination values using the point -by -point
method and indicate the maximum fc value.
6. Revise the lighting plan to indicate the color temperature of the pole light. The color
temperature must be 3000K or less.
7. Revise note 4 under the Luminaire Schedule to indicate that light fixtures will have lamps
emitting warm white light.
8. Coordinate note 5 under the Luminaire Schedule with the color identified in the cut sheet
for the wall fixtures. Ensure a consistent color for all fixtures.
9. Without reducing the overall quantity of plants, limit the number of proposed plants for
any one species to 25% of the total proposed for that plant type (tree, shrub).
10. Revise the landscape plan to show new trees throughout the area of tree removal on the
adjacent parcel to the south.
11. Include a note on the plan stating that the new end of the retaining wall on the bank
parcel will be given a clean finish with materials matching the existing wall materials.
12. Indicate on the site plan the proposed retaining wall color. A sample may be required for
review.
13. Show a "tree line to remain" and tree protection fencing on the adjacent parcel to the
south.
14. Reduce the blue outline on the sign letters for a more streamlined appearance. A
separate sign application is required.
Please provide:
1. One set of revised drawings addressing each of these conditions. Include updated revision
dates on each drawing.
2. A memo including detailed responses indicating how each condition has been satisfied. If
changes other than those requested have been made, identify those changes in the memo
also. Highlighting the changes in the drawing with "clouding" or by other means will facilitate
review and approval.
3. The attached 'Revised Application Submittal' form. This form must be returned with your
revisions to ensure proper tracking and distribution.
When staffs review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a
Certificate of Appropriateness may be issued.
