10. Ordinance to amend Chapter 8, Licenses, Article VI, Schedule of Taxes, D ivision IV, Pers onal,Professional, Business or Repair Service Business, Occupations and Profess ions, of the Code of theCounty of Albemarle, Virginia, by amending Section 8617, R etailers or retail merchants. The proposedordinance would reduce the lic ens e tax from tw enty cents ($0.20) for each one hundred dollars($100.00) of gross receipts to ten cents ($0.10) for each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of gross receiptsfor sales made to a remote buyer ordering by telephone, internet, or mail in w hich the item(s ) s old is/areshipped by common carrier or by the U.S. Postal Service. The proposed effective date of thisordinance is J anuary 1, 2007 (continued from May 5, 2006).

to PD MC Planned District Mixed C ommerc ial z oning district which allows largescale commercial uses; &
residential by special use permit (15 units/ acre). Approximately 675,000 s quare feet of commercial and
office space is proposed. Special use permit to allow 893 residential units in accordance with Section
25A.2.2.1 of the Zoning Ordinance which allow s for residential uses in a PD MC Planned Dev elopment
Mixed C ommerc ial zoning district. PR OFFERS: Yes. EXISTIN G C OMPREH ENSIVE PLAN LAN D
U SE/DENSITY: Neighborhood D ensity Residential residential (36 units/acre) and supporting uses such
