turbines as a by right use in all zoning distric ts and standardize the introduction of each of thos e sections
(Secs. 10.2.1 through 28.2.1 lis ted above), would amend Sec. 3.1 to add definitions of "small w ind turbines"
and associated terms and "his toric areas," and would add Sec. 5.1.46 to establish substantive and
procedural requirements to establish and use s mall wind turbines.

TIK I (Sign #110). PROPOSAL: Rezone 1.021 acres from PDMC Planned D evelopment Mix ed
C ommercial largescale commercial uses; and residential by s pecial use permit (15 units/ ac re) and HC
H ighw ay Commercial commerc ial and servic e uses; and residential use by special use permit (15
units/acre) to PD SC Planned Development Shopping Center shopping centers, retail sales and service
uses. PROFFERS: Yes. EXISTING COMPR EHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE/DENSITY: Tow n C enter
C ompact, higher density area c ontaining a mixture of business es, services , public facilities, residential
areas and public spaces, attrac ting activities of all kinds. (6.0134 dw elling units per acre) and Neighborhood
D ensity Residential residential (36 units/acre) and supporting uses such as religious institutions and

c linic. This proposal also includes one concurrent special use permit SP 08067, a request to allow a

Agricultural and Forestal Districts , of the Albemarle County C ode, to add TMPs 495C, 496A1, 5013 and
5019 to the dis tric t. Notice also is hereby giv en that the Albemarle County Planning Commission w ill
c onsider the addition and make their recommendations on the addition of TMP 5019 on Dec ember 8, 2009
and the Albemarle County Agric ultural and Forestal Advisory Committee on a date prior to D ecember 8,
2009.
