RE: SP202000003 H+H Car Care
Dear Ms. Scherer:
Staff has reviewed your submittal for the special use permit SP202000003, H+H Car Care
Review comments are provided below, organized by department or agency:
Planning Comments (Tori Kanellopoulos)
1. Any comments from Planning will be included in the staff report.
Engineering (Frank Pohl)
1. No objection.
Fire/Rescue (Shawn Maddox)
1. A Knox Box need to be installed to allow access through the gate.
Zoning (Kevin McCollum)
1. In accordance with Section 33.33 of the Zoning Ordinance, Zoning would like to see a
more detailed Conceptual Plan that shows the location of the proposed use within the
context of the site, the location of the vehicular entrances to the building (if any detailing
work will be done inside), and the proposed location of any parking associated with the
use. The drawing titled "Conceptual Drawing" on page 3 of the project narrative does not
adequately meet these requirements.
2. Additionally, a floor plan that shows approximate improvements to the interior would be
helpful. From what has been submitted so far it is hard to tell where the business will be
located and how the space will be set up. As comment 1 suggests, it would be important
to know where vehicular entrances are to the building if any work will be conducted
inside.
3. Based on the approved Site Plans for the property it does not appear there will be any
parking issues, however, it is important to show the location of customer parking,
employee parking, and parking for vehicles/boats/vans/etc. waiting service.
4. Lastly, a picture from the road may be useful to suggest that there is appropriate
screening of the proposed use.
VDOT (Adam Moore)
1. No objection.
ACSA (Richard Nelson)
1. Water and sewer utilities are located at the front of the parcel.
2. The building will need an oil/water separator before tying into sewer.
3. County is to confirm if the existing building will be required to connect to public water and
sewer.
Building Inspections (Michael Dellinger)
1. May need to install a grease interceptor/sand filter to satisfy ACSA requirements. Other
than this all other comments will be done during plan review and no further objection.
